ScanPages

Terms of service

Last updated: May 5, 2026 · Effective from beta launch

These terms cover what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you, when you use ScanPages. Written to be readable — please skim them.

Beta draft — these terms apply during the beta program. A revised final version will be published with 1.0.

01. The basics

These terms govern your use of ScanPages — the iOS and Android apps, this website, and any other product we ship under the ScanPages name.

By installing the app or signing up for sync, you agree to these terms.

02. Your account

You can use ScanPages without an account. Sync (v1.1+) requires one — pick a strong, unique passphrase. We can't recover it if you lose it.

You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

03. Acceptable use

Don't use ScanPages to:

  • Break the law or facilitate someone else doing so
  • Reverse-engineer the app outside what's permitted by your local law
  • Stress-test, probe, or attempt to disrupt our servers
  • Resell access without a written agreement

04. Beta software

If you're using the beta build, see the EULA / Beta agreement for the additional terms that apply specifically to beta software (bug reporting expectations, no warranty, etc.).

05. Subscriptions and refunds

Premium subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google through your App Store or Play Store account. To cancel, change, or refund a subscription, use the standard tools in your store account.

Refund eligibility for any in-app purchase follows Apple's and Google's standard policies, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.

06. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in ScanPages, the brand, the website, and the source code. You retain all rights in the documents you scan — we make no claim to them.

07. Limitation of liability

ScanPages is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Where local law caps liability differently, that cap applies.

08. Termination

You can stop using ScanPages at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or use the app in a way that puts other users at risk.

09. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec, Canada. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Montréal, Québec.
